IBPS PO 2021: As soon has IBPS has released the notification of 4135 posts of different banks, students are keen to know the exam pattern, syllabus of IBPS and SBI PO. Both exams are quite same and nearly has same syllabus. IBPS PO exam is relatively easy to crack.

Before preparing for the exams you must be clear about the exam pattern and syllabus as well. So here we have given Subject wise syllabus , pattern of the question paper and important dates for the exam. So keep reading this article till the end.

IBPS PO Exam pattern

The IBPS PO exam pattern is set by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) which is the conducting body for all IBPS exams. For any candidate willing to apply for the upcoming IBPS PO 2021 exam, it is important that they are completely familiar with the IBPS PO exam pattern.

You must be knowing that IBPS PO is conducted in three sections – A) Prelims B)  Mains C) Interview. Now we will discuss these sections separately.

IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern 

The IBPS PO Prelims Exam Pattern consists of one paper with objective type questions comprising 100 questions divided into three sections. The sections being:

  • Quantitative Aptitude
  • Reasoning Ability
  • English Language

The IBPS PO Exam Pattern for the Prelims exam is given below:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing minimum cut-off marks to be decided by IBPS. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by IBPS depending upon requirements will be shortlisted for Online Main Examination.

Candidates are asked to report at the exam center at least an hour before the examination time. This time is spent on checking the attendance, the Invigilator’s signing of the admit card, and taking the candidate’s thumb impression on the admit card.

Exam is conducted in Online mode at various places in India.

IBPS PO 2021 Mains Exam Pattern

The IBPS PO Mains exam consists of two papers, both of which are conducted online by the Institute. As per the IBPS PO Mains Pattern, the papers are an Objective Test and a Descriptive test. In the IBPS PO Mains Pattern, the objective test is divided into four sections. Only those who clear the cut off marks in prelims are invited for the mains exam.

IBPS PO Exam 2021 Interview

Candidates who have been shortlisted in the Online Main examination for CRP- PO/MT-XI will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Banks and coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State/ UT with the help of IBPS. Interviews will be conducted at select centres.

The centre, address of the venue, time & date of Interview will be informed to the shortlisted candidates in the call letter. Candidates are required to download their interview call letters from authorized IBPS website www.ibps.in. Please note that any request regarding change in date, centre etc. of interview will not be entertained.

A candidate should qualify both in the Online Main Exam and interview and be sufficiently high in the merit to be shortlisted for subsequent provisional allotment process, details of which will be made available subsequently on authorized IBPS website.

List of Documents to be produced at the time of interview 

(i) Printout of the valid Interview Call Letter

(ii) Valid system generated printout of the online application form registered for CRP- PO/MT-XI

(iii) Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate issued by the Competent Authorities or SSLC/ Std. XI Certificate with DOB)

(iv) Photo Identify Proof as indicated in Point H(i) of the advertisement

(v) Mark-sheets or certificates for Graduation or equivalent qualification etc. Proper document from Board/ University for having declared the result on or before 10.11.2021 has to be submitted.

(vi) Caste Certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format as stipulated by Government of India in the case of SC / ST / OBC category candidates. Candidates belonging to OBC category but coming under creamy layer and/ or if their caste does not find place in the Central List are not entitled to OBC reservation. They should indicate their category as General in the online application form.

(vii) Income and Asset Certificate issued by any one of the Authorities as notified by the Government of India in the prescribed format in the case of EWS category candidates.

IBPS PO Exam Negative Marking

According to the IBPS PO Exam Pattern, the scheme of the penalty for incorrect answers is as follows:

  • Every incorrect answer attracts a penalty of one fourth(25%) of the marks allotted to that question.
  • Marking two answers simultaneously is not possible in the online format of the exam since 2013.
  • If an answer is left blank, it attracts no negative marking.

Cut-off Score of IBPS PO Exam 

Each candidate will be required to obtain a minimum score in each test of Online Main examination and also a minimum total score to be considered to be shortlisted for interview. Depending on the number of vacancies available, cut-offs will be decided and candidates will be shortlisted for interview.

Prior to the completion of the interview process, scores obtained in the online Main examination will not be shared with the candidates shortlisted for interview.

IBPS PO 2021 Exam Centers

The examination may be held at the following centres and the address of the venue will be advised in the call letters. IBPS, however, reserves the right to cancel any of the Examination Centres and/ or add some other Centres, at its discretion, depending upon the response, administrative feasibility, etc. IBPS also reserves the right to allot the candidate to any centre other than the one he/she has opted for.
